A Message from Our President

Welcome to  the New England Nursing Informatics Consortium  (NENIC)!

NENIC is a dynamic regional organization of nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and HIT solution providers and as such it’s my pleasure to serve as the 2019 President.

This year the organization plans to continue to provide educational and professional growth opportunities to our members. In addition, my personal goal for NENIC this year is to broaden the knowledge and audience of all NENIC offers to our members and the organizations they serve. Specifically, we will do this through an organization wide effort to expand our digital presence and a concerted focus on growing our membership.

We kicked off the 2019-2020 year with a dynamic and informative presentation from Kristin Hill MA  (Practice Administrator,  Population Behavioral Health, Department of Psychiatry, Rush University Medical Center) . The program , developed by Hill and her colleagues, was a 2018 HIMSS Davies Enterprise Award recipient.

We all learned that a couple of critical data elements collected upon initial assessment with the right program (ie resources) and technology can make a difference in patient's lives. Then when coupled  with informatics and analytics, the impact can grow significantly.

Here is a quick link to the slide presentation. Look for the recorded presentation on our Youtube channel soon!

We also had a lively on-line journal club about robotics and informatics in early November.  Our next Virtual Journal Club is January 7, 2019 and we will be discussing Usability Evaluation, Dashboards and Quality Indicators.  Remember, articles are available a week before our virtual meeting.

We look forward to seeing you - in person or remotely!
