A Message from Our President

We are thrilled to bring you exciting news for 2021!

The 2020 Education and Development Committee has been busy and is thrilled to announce new networking and education programs. Mark your calendars!

  • On March 16, 2021 (5:30-7:30p), Jan Walker RN, MBA (Associate Professor HMS, BIDMC) and Suzanne Leveille RN, PhD (Professor, UMass-Boston, BIDMC) will present “Open Notes and the 21st Century Cures Act: Lessons Learned from the Open Notes Initiative”. We know this event will support members with the Open Notes compliance date on April 5th and there will be time for Q/A. This program will be preceded by a short business meeting and will be a CE event.
  • On October 19, 2021 (5:30-7:30p), NENIC will welcome back Dr. Patricia Brennan RN, PhD (Director, National Library of Medicine) for a dinner event at Waltham Woods! We are planning that we will be able to safely meet in person and cannot wait! This will be a CE event.
(See below for past events and here is a quick link to the  NENIC COVID lecture series.)

Trends in Clinical Informatics: A Nursing Perspective has been canceled for 2021. We are exploring alternatives for CE and Networking. We have booked the Conference Center at Waltham Woods for 2022 (April 22, 2022), so save the date!  We will celebrate the future – as we define it together!

We are continuing to partner with Wolters Kluwer/ CIN: Computers, Informatics, Nursing and continuing our virtual journal club with CE offerings. We will be announcing new journal club events in March.

Be sure to keep up with the latest Nursing Informatics news from members. This can be easily found on our home page in the Latest News section (right bottom).

We are looking forward to an exciting new year.  We will continue to balance community updates, educational offerings, and leadership. It has been an honor to serve as NENIC President.

As always, we are “Nurses Transforming Healthcare through Informatics.”

Wishing you health, and strength in New Year,

Diane Menasco MSHI, BSN, CPHIMS (NENIC President)
