A Message from Our President

 

Welcome!  I am grateful to be part of an amazing organization and to have the opportunity to serve as your President.    I encourage you to take advantage of the many educational and other activities that we have planned throughout the year.  Please take the time to explore what we have to offer, and we look forward to your involvement in all our activities throughout the year.

Congratulations to our member, Patricia C. Dykes, PhD, RN, FANN, FACMI, who has been appointed to Professor of Medicine at Havard Medical School, effective January 1, 2024. 

Dr. Patricia Dykes is the Research Program Director of the BWH Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice. She is nationally and internationally known as a leader in clinical informatics and patient safety research. She has developed technological innovations that have enhanced awareness of, and training in, fall prevention across MGB and around the world. She has built a substantial record of scholarship with widely cited publications in high-impact journals and frequent speaking engagements in national and international venues. Her work has been supported by competitive federal and foundation funding. Dr. Dykes has served in leadership roles and on key committees for the professional societies of her field, including a term as President of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). She is a devoted teacher and committed mentor to trainees and faculty at BWH and HMS.

Call for participation: Trends in Clinical Informatics - Submission Deadline -March 18, 2024

We invite abstract submissions addressing the theme "Nurses Transforming Healthcare through Informatics," particularly emphasizing real-life experiences in nursing informatics within clinical settings, encompassing both successes and failures.  Save the date! Trends in Clinical Informatics: A Nursing Perspective - May 17, 2024

We are excited to announce the date for our annual Trends in Clinical Informatics: A Nursing Perspective.  We are building an exciting slate of local and national speakers. There will be time for the participants to interact with the speakers and network with new and familiar colleagues. In addition, there will be our exciting yearly event featuring several posters and exhibitors.

Recognize an outstanding Nursing Informaticist for the 2024 Rita D. Zielstorff Award - through April 5, 2024

Each year NENIC recognizes outstanding leaders in the field of Nursing Informatics at our annual symposium. This year is no different but we need our members to nominate the most qualified.

Candidates for nomination must have demonstrated leadership in Nursing Informatics at a public or private organization, nationally or regionally in New England, and be respected as role models by peers. Additionally, nominees should actively support and recruit for the New England Nursing Informatics Consortium (NENIC), provide exceptional voluntary leadership, and have made significant contributions to the field through publications or presentations.
