NENIC is very pleased to announce the national recognition of two Board members and Nursing Informatics leaders.
The American Medical Informatics Association has announced that Rita Zielstorff is the recipient of the prestigious 2011 Virginia K. Saba Informatics award. This award recognizes a distinguished career that has made significant impact on the care of patients and the discipline of nursing. Recipient must demonstrate: use of informatics as transformative in patient care; visionary leadership; and enduring contribution to professional practice, education, administration, research, and/or health policy.
The American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI) has announced that Patricia Dykes, RN, DNSc has been elected as a Fellow. ACMI is a college of elected Fellows from the U.S. and abroad who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics. It is the central body for a community of scholars and practitioners who are committed to advancing the informatics field. She will be inducted at the Annual AMIA Symposium on October 23, 2011 in Washington, DC.

Formed in 2007 through the merger of the Boston Area Nursing Informatics Consortium (BANIC) and the Nursing Information Systems Council of New England (NISNCE), NENIC serves the informatics community of New England.
Our mission is to serve as the premier resource for networking, education and information exchange, in order to enhance the professional development and further the profession of nursing informatics.
NENIC is a founding member of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics (www.allianceni.org) - a national collaboration of organizations representing a unified voice for Nursing Informatics.
